Stephen Northcott (CEO of Extreme Sports Cafe Co. Ltd - Thailand and subsidiary Skydive Thailand) has today again announced a plethora of extreme sports activities across Asia this year and next. These include BASE jumps, Wind Tunnel camps and the opening of a new Skydiving Drop Zone in Thailand (http://www.skydivethailand.com) as well as new schools and the build up to an Asia wide extreme sports "Boogie", planned for November 2005.
Extreme Sports Cafe has been introducing people to their first extreme sport for over four years now and made the move to Asia last year as it saw an increase in opportunities and interest in extreme sports in countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, Laos and Austral-Asia.
One dream of the founder members of Extreme Sports Cafe was to host a large international combined extreme sports boogie for people from all over the world, from different backgrounds, experience levels and disciplines. This seemed particularly relevant to Asia so they moved the companies base of operations there last year to start preparing for this.
To this end Extreme Sports Cafe has started pulling together a number of schools, instructors and organisers from around the globe to make this event happen. To provide a permanent base of operations and make this a biannual event they have now completed and opened a new Drop Zone with British and Thai partners in Pattaya, Thailand. This is the only commercial Drop Zone in Thailand, and as far as we can tell the only full time Drop Zone in South East Asia.
Skydive Thailand - http://www.skydvethailand.com - is now fully operational and open for everyone.
The opening ceremonies for the Drop Zone and the Air Park it is located on were held on the 11th - 14th November 2004 at Pattaya Air Park, Thailand. After a short delay the Drop Zone started operating late in December and officially opened two weeks ago. It now offers Tandem Skydives, Experienced Jumper Lifts and Skydiving Courses year round.
This location provides international air access as well as water, land and air sport locations all within grasp of their new location. Extreme Sports Cafe and Skydive Thailand together now offer all extreme land, air and water sports; paragliding, paramotoring, kitesurfing, windsurfing, climbing, skydiving, tandem skydives etc. etc.
In the run up to the Extreme Sports Cafe Asia Boogie scheduled for November 2005 and their First Jump B.A.S.E Course scheduled for December 2005 in Kuala Lumpur Extreme Sports Cafe will be organizing a mini-boogie and extreme sports expo. in October 2005 at their Jomtien base near the newly opened Drop Zone and their hub of extreme activities in Thailand. After the success of their Wind Tunnel camp this month, they will again be offering people who have never skydived before the opportunity to train in a wind tunnel near KL in August 2005. Early in 2005 the Drop Zone in Thailand will host a skydiving festival which will run alongside a Kite-surfing, Para-motoring, and flying festival which is a practice run for the Extreme Sports Cafe Asia Boogie to be run in November 2005.
People can also be able to learn to skydive for themselves at Skydive Thailand - Extreme Sports Cafe's Drop Zone. As well as courses, Tandem Skydives are available every weekend and soon on weekdays, year round.
All of this has been achieved without a major sponsor. Extreme Sports Cafe are now actively looking for a sponsor now to help with the purchase of a larger aircraft and to help fund the development of their own Wind Tunnel to be based at the Drop Zone.
"By 2006 we will have our own Wind Tunnel at Skydive Thailand as well as two aircraft and full facilities so that we can become a Drop Zone where competitions and team training can be held regularly" - Stephen Northcott.
About Extreme Sports Cafe: Extreme Sports Cafe was founded in 1999 by it's four directors and launched itself with an unprecedented movie promo. tie up with the Vin Diesel movie xXx. They quickly opened their first high street location in the UK. Since then they have introduced thousands of people to their first extreme sport at locations with personally recommended instructors and schools all over the world. One of Extreme Sports Cafe's strengths is a personal relationship with it's students (and trainers) which continues after they have established themselves in the sport. This enables them to grow the business dependent on recommendations and personal introductions, not glib marketing. More recently the company has become involved more and more with the promotion and growth of extreme sports in Europe and Asia.
In 2004/2005 Extreme Sports Cafe fulfilled yet another dream of it's founders. It opened it's own Drop Zone!
